We had a pair of them at WWOR, which were ultimately replaced with an
LMS-80 and an LMS-1000 (using digital Beta, not D2).

The Betacarts were hard to beat for reliability, but the 40 cart limit
was, well, limiting.

I could tell you some good stories about Sony and the LMS machines, and
the early RISC NEWs machines running the "SonyOS" (aka BSD Unix).

Do you know Jim Moneyhunt and his Florical outfit? They did some
software for us to interface to an EMC Celerra Media server, a product
since discontinued by EMC, but it was a BEAST, 4GB of RAM cache (in
1999) and several hundred SCSI fiber-channel drives.

Don't need one of those. I do have a couple of scsi Jaz drives, some
scsi CD drives, and the usual assortment of Syquest and Bernouli stuff.
Some of them are from old Chyron IVs and Infinits (I have seen Maxines
butwe never had one, my boss described them as "almost Infinits").

I also have a couple of SCSI-to-Ethernet adapters, I'll bet finding
Linux drivers for those would be tough (they were used on very old Macs).
