The problem is that there is no "one size fits all" install. The needs
of a workstation differ from a Mythtv backend server, or a Samba or
web server, or a firewall.

In addition, "security" and "user-friendliness" tend to pull in
opposite directions - the more security you have, the harder it is to
use.  That's not necessarily true in all cases, but it's certainly
valid in general.

Fedora enables certain services to make things easier for the user -
but it also enables iptables, and the default set of open ports is
pretty limited (IIRC, on the appropriate "firstboot" page none of
those ports are enabled - you have to choose which ones to have open).
So if you do the default install, you'll still have good security
against network-based attacks.
