Well, in the UK, the best I found was a ~£14 set from Tescos (mouse and 
keyboard, USB, works under linux, I have tested from FC4 up). Range is good 
(I did get one duff keyboard, no range whatsoever, so they replaced it). Got 
several in the house, where there is a lot of EM interference in general, no 
problems. 4-5 metres without a problem. Batteries, two sets of AAs (x2) in 
10 months and 1 set of AAAs. Brand is Technika
