I have an update on this, if anyone cares to know. I have approximately
328 channels in my SD lineup, which include several Music Choice music
channels and premium channels that I don't subscribe to (HBO, Starz,
etc., and their associated bundle channels). When I do a scan via
MythTV, I get 278 unknowns (UNKNOWN17#0, etc.) and 50 known. I have
gone thru every single channel and have only identified 50 that are with
my lineup. The other 278 only show a blank screen. A few of them gave
me the "you should have gotten a lock by now" message, but a vast
majority of them seem to lock on to the channel, but show no TV data at
all.
50 out of 328 seems awfully low to me. Many of the channels that I get
I don't care about, and the ones that I do care about (USA, FX, etc.) do
not seem to be tunable. I have a web page I made that shows my SD
lineup (made from an original spreadsheet with 2 sheets on it; 1 with my
SD lineup and what I have for channels in Myth and the other a list of
the unknowns) with the known channels highlighted green, the not-tunable
channels as red, and the premium channels in orange. It is located at:
http://www.ourapplecart.com/sd.html .
I am attatching the output of a dtvscan run that I did. It lists QAM
channel frequencies, but I'm not sure what it's showing me and whether
or not this can help.
Thanks,
Harry
