Now I think about it, I seem to remember a thread on here a while back about 
clock drift... can't remember the details, or the resolution to the problem. 
Might have had something to do with what kind of video you're using. Or, a 
sure-fire way to lose clock-ticks is with a serial IR receiver or blaster, which 
  hogs the CPU whilst doing I/O (I think...like I say, it's been a while).
