[mythtv-users] Fanless: What about VIA mobos ?

Hi folks,

Like the VIA EPIA MII series with TV out ? The VIA Eden processor is
squarely fanless. Can't get more fanless than that I guess, apart from
using a huge fancy heatsink, which wouldn't fit in a small DVD
player-style case.

But, these CPUs are low end. I'm presently running MythTV on a Asus
Pentium board (which has an issue with AGP bus so I can't use an AGP
video card with TV out) with 1 GB RAM and the live TV images are choppy.

How then, can a slower VIA CPU and lesser RAM fare regarding the
choppiness of live TV feed ?

And, are the TV outs of these boards supported by MythTV ?

If these boards provides high quality TV on an actual TV set then
they seem ideal, in both features and cute mini-ITX size. Although I
have the impression they do not fare well because they seem not to be
in wide use for MythTV. Or maybe I missed the msgs about them.

So, when considering spending some 250 bucks on a MythTV upgrade, I'm
looking at these boards.

Anyone using VIA mobos with the TV out ? And if so, with which
capture card ?
