[mythtv-users] Watching HD streams on a SD set

I have been attempting to watch HD recordings on a standard television
set with limited success. The frontend in question is has onboard Intel
915G graphics using the i810 driver.

Whenever I view HD content on the frontend, I see massive interlacing
artifacts when anything is remotely moving. Do I need to run a
deinterlacer if I am displaying on an interlaced device? Is there a
resolution at which I should be running the display that will be more
efficient for the Myth player? I am currently running the display at
1024x768. My SD tuner cards record at 720x480 and it seems to display
fine on the set, but any HD material has herringbones whenever something
moves. Does anybody have any experiences or tips for displaying HD
material on a regular set?

Also, does anybody know if Myth supports XvMC for this device? The wiki
only mentions Nvidia and ATI cards but the driver documentation seems to
indicate that the driver supports XvMC. Has anyone successfully used this?
