[mythtv-users] looking for drama free analog card

Greetings,

I'm looking to invest in a new analog card to augment/replace the
piece of poo that I have (which works but it's neither pretty or
elegant). As I already have one card tying up my audio line in, I'd
like the new one to handle audio internally, which I assume means that
I need one with onboard mpeg decoding?

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Hauppauge PVR-500 but it sounds
like there may be a long history of audio weirdness according to
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_PVR-500 Is that
overblown? Or is the workaround listed a happy thing?

Aside from the Hauppauge cards, pickins then appear to be slim where
AVerMedia's offerings appear to be very very Hauppauge like, and the
other device is an external USB dealio which seems unnecessarily icky:

Thoughts?
