Good. Glad it worked for you.

I (a non-dev) figure doing so wouldn't be useful. The devs will fix
bugs in MythTV, but they do not "fix" misconfigurations caused by the
user. In other words, if you configure MythTV wrongly, it will happily
do as you say (even if it prevents it from recording or whatever). I,
for one, am happy that Myth doesn't presume to be smarter than I (though
that may be the case, I can at least trust that Myth does as I ask, so I
don't have to map my wrong actions to "right" re-configuration that Myth
does to figure out what's happening).

Changing video source/input connections/channels configuration properly
often requires a /lot/ of knowledge of how everything is working
internally to understand the cascading effects of changes. That's why I
generally recommend people don't change the configuration--instead, they
should remove all of the old config and re-create the configuration
(which is generally quite easy). Yours is just another case where
changing the configuration was much more difficult than re-creating it. :)

IMHO, users should only consider making simple changes (i.e. such as
migrating from Z2L to SD with exactly the same TMS lineup, requiring
only changing the grabber/userid/password). More complex changes (i.e.
when channels are added/removed/changed) are generally much easier to do
from a "clean slate."

But, thanks for the offer.

Mike
