I'll toss in my experience with the free nv driver with respect to
this setting.  Even with Qt selected, performance was abyssmal, awful, 
horrible and frustrating.   Despite the AMD A64 3500+ with 1GB RAM. 

Nvidia's own drivers though fixed it.
