[mythtv-users] LiveTV Fails To Start Because of Recordings? How Do I Resolve?

Thanks for the response.

I deleted all capture cards, then re-added my capture card, scanned for channels,  then attempted to watch tv. 

I'm using a Hauppauge PVR-150 and I set it as MPEG-2. I can't tell which version of ivtv is installed or if it is installed. I have no IVTV tools. I installed mythtv from packages and did not install ivtv separately. Looking in my package manager, it doesn't appear that ivtv is installed. Is that possible? In my package manager I only see ivtv source and ivtv utils versions 1.0.2-2. Should I try to manually install ivtv?

If I capture the video from the device and save it in a file, I can view the file with totem movie player. 

No channel change scripts installed that I'm aware of.

My suggestion would be to go back into mythtvsetup and select 'Delete
all capture cards' on the Capture Cards page. Re-add your card(s)
making sure your ivtv-based PVR card is configured as a hardware
MPEG-2 card (and leave the audio settings alone).

If this doesn't help, please list the capture cards you have in the
machine and the version of ivtv that you are using.

Do you have any channel-change/capture card scripts being called when
recordings start that may be interfering with the ivtv driver?
