Oddly, everything *did* record.  Not sure why, maybe by forcing the recording 
it ignored some of the pre/post roll.  Or maybe my other half watched and 
deleted something in time to free up a tuner...

D'Oh! You're not wrong.  I didn't realise the 1900hrs show was an hour one, 
usually its only 1/2 hour.  I was looking, but not seeing.  The important 
lesson is to always trust computers - they are never wrong :)  Thanks for 
everyones interest/help.
