[mythtv-users] Zap2It EPG data overwrites scan data - losing channels

I can tune to various Bev channels after a Myth full scan - works great.  I
can then download the EPG data from Zap2IT (mythfilldatabase
--do-channel-updates), I get the nice channel names etc.  However, after the
channel update, my channels are no longer visible (I assume pid/vid data is
overwritten in the Myth mysql database).  If I rescan in myth, I lose the
channel names, but get pictures back, etc.  You get the idea...
 
Has anyone found a solution to this?  I would hate to retype all channel
names....
