The problem occurs before MythTV even starts, so the problem is not 
related to MythTV. There are bug reports tracking it in the Xorg bug 
database <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9758> and the 
Gentoo bug database <http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163705>.
