[mythtv-users] mythfrontend skips Main Menu if DVD-Movie is mounted

I've persevered with this behaviour for a while and am resigned to the
fact 'it's the way it's going to be'. I've seen
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/233831 which
relates to data discs, but I'm hoping that media monitor behaviour is
that it starts to monitor things only once mythfrontend is running.

Starting up mythfrontend with an already mounted DVD-Movie disc will
skip the main menu, play the DVD and will load the root menu. Backing
out of the DVD menu will get back to the MythTV menu, but this wastes
time needlessly IMO.

Starting mythfrontend should surely *always* display the main menu,
irrespective of what's in the DVD drive (movie or data), and
irrespective of the 'Monitor CD/DVD drive' option. I still want the
system to monitor the optical drive(s), just not when mythfrontend is
starting up for the first time.

This is on a FC4-based system, using the internal player. Media
monitor *is* monitoring the DVD drive (see above). Release information
is as follows:

Library API version : 0.20.20070327-1
Source code version : 13431
Network Protocol Version: 34
Options compiled in:
 linux release using_v4l using_oss using_alsa using_ivtv using_lirc
using_dvb using_x11 using_xv using_xrandr using_opengl_vsync
using_opengl using_frontend using_backend using_bindings_perl
