[mythtv-users] Anyone having problems connecting to Zap2it/Datadirect?

First things first, i'd go into your firewall/router and set your Myth box
to DMZ. Yes, this is dangerous but we're only keeping it there for a few
minutes. At that point, go ahead and try mythfilldatabase to see if you can
grab data. If you do grab data, you've got some kind of problem with your
firewall. For the purpose of this message I'll assume you can't get data in
this method.

Next lets try a traceroute to datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com from work in
St. Louis I get the following Trace:

M:\>tracert datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com

Apologies for blanking our IPs here at work..:)

As we can see, we can't Trace all the way down to datadirect's network, but
we can get as far as mdf1-bi8k-1-eth-2-2.chi1.attens.net before someone
turned off ping requests. I'll make the assumption that this is the link
into datadirect's ISP and that it's their ISP (or themselves) that have ping
returns turned off. Run a traceroute on your box and make sure you can get
at least to this point in the path. My guess is, you can't.

Next try http directly to http://206.18.98.160/ (this rules out any issues
with DNS Name resolution)

Should get the following:
HTTP Status 404 - /
------------------------------

*type* Status report

*message* */*

*description* *The requested resource (/) is not available.*
------------------------------
Apache Tomcat/5.5.17If you STILL cannot get to the page and still cannot
pinpoint an error (box is in the DMZ, trace goes through, HTTP to IP address
fails) i'm unsure where to have you go next.
