[mythtv-users] Using with a TV

I've configured MythTV using the SuSE 10.2 wiki pages and have it
running fine on my PC, an AMD Sempron processor with an nVidia GEForce
5500 video card, 1 GB RAM and a 160 GB drive).

I also tested connected to a 27" CRT TV. I had some issues with colour
balance and an overall light fuzziness. It was watchable, if not quite
what I expected; however, when I connected the PC to the main TV we
have, a big, floor-standing Toshiba 44", it showed up really fuzzy, and
I can't get any richness in the colour balance. I've connected to the TV
via an S-Video adapter, and even before running mythfrontend, the
desktop looks washed out and not at all sharp. I put that down to the
TV's resolution, but comparing channels directly connected via one of
the TV's inputs versus what I see via MythTV shows up the lack of
sharpness quite dramatically.

I'm really disappointed at this point - I was hoping for quality very
close to that of the cable source, and would appreciate any pointers to
adjustments I could try.

Thanks,
