If you have configured your distribution to send udev events to your 
MythTV frontend and enabled CD/DVD monitoring on your MythTV frontend, 
then it should just work. That is is how it is configured in recent 
versions of MiniMyth and it works. Of course, if your distribution does 
not use udev, then you may be out of luck.

For information on how to configure your distribution to send udev 
events to your MythTV frontend look at the mythtv.rules file in the 
contrib directory of the MythTV distribution.
