Hi,
I did not see anyone mention yet that there seems to be a real
fix for the corrupted recordings problem with SAA7146-based DVB-cards.
See http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-May/017669.html
The problem results the following types of loglines in MythTV
in addition to corrupted recordings:
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]slice mismatch
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 16 17
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]Warning MVs not available
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 36 27
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]Warning MVs not available
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 12 3
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 36 22
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 29 31
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]Warning MVs not available
[mpeg2video @ 0x57e164]ac-tex damaged at 6 9
Although I personally have not had the time to test the patch mentioned
in the www.linuxtv.org site more than a half a day, I haven't got ANY
of the above error messages first time in couple of years ... :)
In case you do have SAA7146-based DVB-card, you might want to test
that patch as it does seem to fit the problem description very well (ie.
fixes missing DMA-transfer sync with budget-core based drivers.
