[mythtv-users] Transcode fails

I've just reinstalled my MythTV system from scratch and I've hit a problem 
- I can't get transcoding to work.

For MPEG2 streams I get:

It looks like these are probably 2 different problems, but I'm at a loss 
as to how to fix either of them.  Has anyone got any ideas?  Thanks.
