It didn't seem to help at all.

That is a good idea to try a learning remote. Maybe I'll go to beast buy
and rent one (I mean buy one and maybe return later). The remote does work
correctly with the STB.
Can you try a different "standard" remote? Often if you go to the cable
> office with your unit and just tell them "it's broke" they'll hand you

I doubt there is anything wrong with the signal coming out the remote. The
myblaster "learns" the signal straight away when I press the button. That
to me means that the myblaster sees a strong clean signal. I could try
getting a replacement as a last resort just to eliminate that option.
