Thanks Matt. I will try starting mythfront end with that option to verify
if that is the problem. I have verified that direct rendering was enabled
through glxinfo. Perhaps I am missing some other necessary piece in my
xorg.conf? I'll post my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log when I get home.
