What stream type are you using for the PVR card(s)? It could be that
before recording with MythTV, the ivtv driver is using a 'good' stream
type, and that recording with MythTV chooses a different profile that
is producing these results.
On newer kernels and ivtv releases, you would use
# v4l2-ctl --device=/dev/video0 --info
to list the driver settings for /dev/video0. If you do this before and
after recording with MythTV you may find the change that is causing
your problems. You should look out for changes to stream-type is this
could be the caue of the problems.
