here is the cat of the file...

[myth at mythtv ~]$ cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
::1     localhost.localdomain   localhost
[myth at mythtv ~]$

if i type in hostname:

[myth at mythtv ~]$ hostname
mythtv
