I assume you already followed the digital audio how-to on the wiki, right?
Also, in MY experiences with the newer versions of MythTV there really is no
obvious benefit of using Xine over the built-in player. In .18 I used Xine
but ever since I upgraded to .20 the internal player seems to work just
fine. It was actually one less thing to configure for AC3 and for LIRC so
the configuration was a lot more easy. I have had my share of
knock-down-drag-out fights with AC3 so I feel your pain and hope you get it
resolved soon.
