Hi,
My mythtv box has recently stopped working for me. The problem is the
/dev/dvb has disappeared, I'd previously used it for many months without
problems. Not sure what I did to break it, or even exactly when.
The system is running Ubuntu 7.04 and has the stock Ubuntu kernel
2.6.20-16-386. DVB card is a Twinhan mini-Ter.
dmesg shows:
...
[ 32.376000] bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded
[ 32.376000] bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
[ 32.384000] bt878: AUDIO driver version 0.0.0 loaded
[ 32.384000] bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (0).
[ 32.384000] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKB] enabled at IRQ 5
[ 32.384000] PCI: setting IRQ 5 as level-triggered
[ 32.384000] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:09.1[A] -> Link [LNKB] -> GSI
5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5
[ 32.384000] bt878_probe: card id=[0x11822],[ Twinhan VisionPlus DVB ]
has DVB functions.
[ 32.384000] bt878(0): Bt878 (rev 17) at 00:09.1, irq: 5, latency: 32,
memory: 0xe2001000
...
There is no DVB front-end registration message, which I know should be
there.
lspci shows that the appropriate modules seem to be loading:
# lsmod | grep "dv\|br"
dvb_bt8xx 17156 0
dvb_core 78760 2 dvb_bt8xx,dst
bt878 10920 2 dvb_bt8xx,dst
bttv 170356 2 dvb_bt8xx,bt878
i2c_core 21648 9
i2c_ec,dvb_bt8xx,dst,bttv,i2c_algo_bit,i2c_viapro,tveeprom,via686a,i2c_isa
Also, here is what scanpci finds:
...
pci bus 0x0000 cardnum 0x09 function 0x00: vendor 0x109e device 0x036a
Brooktree Corporation Device unknown
pci bus 0x0000 cardnum 0x09 function 0x01: vendor 0x109e device 0x0878
Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture
...
Does anyone have some ideas?
Many thanks,
Jarrod
