Nope. I'm running Mandriva 2007.1, which picked out the "ati" driver 
automatically on installation. Unlike 2007.0, which gave me a "vesa" 
driver I had to spend some time replacing.

You may be right, it's not ideal, but this machine's main function isn't 
an HTPC, so I can live with it.
