You should be able to - PCI-X cards should work in a standard 32bit 3.3V
(IIRC) PCI slot.  I've not used a 9550, but a 9500 certainly does work
in a 32bit PCI slot (and I'e not noticed any major performance
improvements now it's moved to a PCI-X slot).
