Something similar  was created a few years ago for myth users in the UK,
where you picked the channel package you had, and it automatically populated
the database, however it was pulled, I think due to conflicts with XMLTV
themselves.

Would it not be possible to knock up a shell script to do an sql import
directly into myth's channel table. We'd still have the problem of
myth-setup trying to configure tv_grab_uk_rt, but it would save loads of
tedious mucking about, although I've only done once or twice in about 4
years.
