[mythtv-users] Disabling tuner 1 of a PVR-500?

What's the mythbackend log output at the time of the crash? The
scheduler should run again at startup and take notice of the missing
tuner.

If you do this be sure to select the "Delete All Capture Cards" option
which will remove all configured cards and reset card numbering.
