I know this may sound over simplified but....
Could you just tape over the ir receiver on the tv?
I know you would lose power control but...

Hey folks. Got a smidgen of a problem. Sorta :)

I made the switch on Friday, to go from watching my TV off a regular 19"
LCD monitor to a much larger, old tv. I'm using KnoppMyth and a Nvidia
graphics card with SVideo out... and everything worked immediately when
I disconnected the monitor and connected the TV. Quality looks awesome
-- no difference than if I had connected the cable directly to the tv.

However, there is a problem.

My Hauppauge remote (from a PVR-150, A415) appears to send the same
signals as my actual TV remote. If I hit volume up or volume down on my
Hauppauge... not only does the MythTV volume go up and down, but the
*television* volume goes up and down! The speakers on the TV have
become "iffy" sounding, so I keep the volume down to zero on the TV and
use external speakers for my audio, which sounds great.

Channel up and Channel Down also do the same thing, which is even bigger
of a problem... because it takes me off of the SVideo input.

The television is a 27" Philips brand TV. It is about 5 or 6 years old.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
--Eric Holt
