Funny,

I took a stroll through the Event Viewer of one of my desktop  machines
still running WinXP.  I saw some errors there that the disk attached to a
certain controller was about to fail.

I'll be darned if it wasn't actually right.  I ended up rebuiding that box
three weeks later.
