I have to say I'm a little perplexed (although I'm certain Bruce will
have the answer). The rule is configured to record with subtitle and
description duplicate matching and will check for duplicates in all
episodes.

If you alter the rule so that you only check the Subtitle, does this
make any difference to the resulting scheduled episodes of Scrubs?
