Might work out. If it's wireless it's probably running in the 2.4
Ghz. band, so you could have possible interference problems from and
to 802.11 and cordless phones and from microwave ovens.
But having said that, I'm using a "Gyration" 2.4 Ghz. wireless
keyboard and I have no detectable problems even though I'm using
802.11 and a 2.4Ghz. phone. The Gyration "wave in the air" gyro mouse
is great for Mythbrowser.
As far as the numeric pad, the keys I use the most on a remote are
pause and mute, and the scroll keys for the guide. As you said you'd
have to try and map them somehow.
