I'm also using an AVermedia card. Mine is an AVerTV Hybrid+FM PCI -
Maplin's product page here:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48228&criteria=hybrid&doy=4m2
I'm in a poor reception area for some multiplexes, with an old analog
rooftop aerial installation, old coax cable and multiple breaks in the
cable run. I also had an old analog distribution amp in the loft which
I've removed and connected only the TV card to the aerial leaving the
other outlets in the house disconnected. I get reasonable but not
perfect reception with this card. The reception seems slightly better
than the Thomson DVB set-top box that the MythTV PC replaces. I do get
errors in the DVB streams I receive - more or less depending on
multiplex and weather. On the whole this card seems to work well with
Linux/MythTV - let me know if you want specific configuration advice.
