My guess is that MythTV is trying to use some feature that
mplayer is not using. Either chromakey or picture attributes
would be my first guess. You can disable "Xv picture attributes"
in the frontend configuration. It might make sense to create
a ticket for this... If it is the chromakey, I could write a
quick and dirty patch to test that theory. Try disabling picture
attributes first...
