[mythtv-users] Watch TV gives "An Error Occured while...." AirStar HD5000AV PCI DVB card.

I've been struggling with my FC6 based MythTV installation again!   From 
the MythFrontEnd Menu,  I select Watch TV.  I see the program guide info 
at the bottom of the screen along with lock info which appears normal. 
The screen fades to black and I get an error message which says "Error 
was Encountered while Displaying Video"

Mythfrontend output is  shown below.   The file mentioned near the 
invalid file error (fd -1) ('/video/1231_20070201120856.mpg'.)  doesn't 
exist.  The /video directory has rwx permissions all across.   When the 
error occurs,  the mythbackend kicks out thousand lines  like 
"2007-02-01 12:08:59.408 DVBRec(0) Warning: Recording will not commence 
until a PMT is set."  I looked up PMT and found that the Program Map 
Table is associated with the mpeg stream.  That makes sense since my 
Air2pc card has a hardware encoder chip in it.

Interestingly,  I can drop (delete) the mythconverg database, reinstall 
it and rerun mythfilldatabase --refresh-all, run through mythtv-setup 
then I can "watch TV" for exactly one trip.  But just escape out of  
"watch TV" then try to return to "watching tv"  throws the "Error was 
Encountered while Displaying Video" for all subsequent attempts.   After 
the one good peek in  "Watch TV", cold reboots of the PC do not help.  
PC is an Asus P4-800E with 1 GB memory and FX5900 nvidia AGP video card.

I'm going to completely reinstall FC6 and if that doesn't fix the 
problem,  I think I'll buy a different OTA ATSC card and send this one 
back to the factory. Or heaven forbid, fire up XP to see if the card has 
a problem.
