[mythtv-users] Internal Player slow on videos

I have some high def mpeg2's from an HD D*Tivo, with specs

Mpeg 2 Program Stream File [Video/Audio]
   Muxrate : 8.00 Mbps
   Estimated Duration: 01:00:01.02s
   Aspect ratio 16/9 (large TV)
   Interlaced, chroma format: 4:2:0
   Size [1280 x 1088] 29.97 fps 65.00 Mbps
   Audio : Mpeg 1 layer 1
   free bitrate 44100 Hz
   Stereo, No emphasis

they play terribly using the mythv internal player (the video barely
goes forward), but fine with mplayer, xine, vlc. I've tried changing the
mpeg2 decoder setting with no obvious change.

This if off a recent svn which has playback profiles. I just constructed
a new profile with just one decoder, which I changed for each test.

The internal decoder works fine with HD captured from an HDHomerun, or
firewire cable box. Why can mplayer, xine, vlc handle these other ones but
not the internal player?
