There is no XvMC support for the 8 series of Nvidia cards, but that's 
not the problem. Make sure 'vsync' is turned on in nvidia-settings. That 
fixed it for me with my 8400GS card. I just use standard decoding, and 
with bob deinterlacing it looks fantastic.
