Yes, in the video manager, edit the metadata, change the 'Play File After
This' setting, make sure to save.

You can set the second part to not be browsable (again the metadata editor,
in the video manager). 

> 2) The IMDB lookup is great, but can this really only be done in the
> setup section?

Yes. Adding video manager like editing to other views is on the list of
things that may get done eventually.
