I just went to look at dmesg for some other reason and found these errors.
[108715.863315] ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are full. Dropping data.[108715.863320] ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading fast enough.[187845.748109] ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are full. Dropping data.[187845.748115] ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading fast enough.
I haven't noticed any problems with recordings BUT I do have to admit I am WAY behind on watching stuff. I am still watching stuff recorded back in October. I have 197 shows to watch (per xbmcmythtv. this is where I watch all my stuff), most of them are 30 minutes long and include Family Guy, Cane, Scrubs, CSI, etc etc.
I have found a few things through gogle but they all seem old and not related to this version of the ivtv module. Per dmesg, this is my ivtv info:
[ 18.159785] ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================[ 18.159790] ivtv: version 0.10.1 (tagged release) loading[ 18.159791] ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.20-16-generic SMP mod_unload 586[ 18.159793] ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between[ 18.159795] ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with[ 18.159797] ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.[ 18.159858] ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23415 based)[ 18.159947] ivtv0: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32)[ 18.874227] ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (262144 bytes)[ 18.910022] ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw firmware (262144 bytes)[ 19.135115] ivtv0: Encoder revision: 0x02050032[ 19.135117] ivtv0: Recommended firmware version is 0x02060039.[ 19.143133] ivtv0: Decoder revision: 0x02020023[ 19.208974] ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350[ 19.232221] tuner 1-0043: chip found @ 0x86 (ivtv i2c driver #0)[ 19.236874] tuner 1-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (ivtv i2c driver #0)[ 19.309445] saa7115 1-0021: saa7115 found (1f7115d0e100000) @ 0x42 (ivtv i2c driver #0)[ 19.551679] saa7127 1-0044: saa7129 found @ 0x88 (ivtv i2c driver #0)[ 19.577813] msp3400 1-0040: MSP4448G-B3 found @ 0x80 (ivtv i2c driver #0)[ 19.577978] ivtv0: Registered device video0 for encoder MPEG (4 MB)[ 19.578148] ivtv0: Registered device video32 for encoder YUV (2 MB)[ 19.578355] ivtv0: Registered device vbi0 for encoder VBI (1 MB)[ 19.578443] ivtv0: Registered device video24 for encoder PCM audio (1 MB)[ 19.578660] ivtv0: Registered device radio0 for encoder radio[ 19.578687] ivtv0: Registered device video16 for decoder MPEG (1 MB)[ 19.578743] ivtv0: Registered device vbi8 for decoder VBI (1 MB)[ 19.579118] ivtv0: Registered device vbi16 for decoder VOUT[ 19.579147] ivtv0: Registered device video48 for decoder YUV (1 MB)[ 19.675418] ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg firmware (155648 bytes)[ 20.143598] ivtv0: Initialized Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350, card #0[ 20.143643] ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ====================
I am running mythtv from Ubuntu Feisty Updates repo. Aptitude shows this:
0.20.2-0ubuntu0.7.04.1
I have a PVR-350 using the S-Video IN connection which is capturing the SA3250 cable box output.
Any help would be appreciated.
Daniel
