I posted yesterday about a similar problem I am having as well.

I recorded a show last night that would exhibit the problem.

It is a SD Digital show. 

Mplayer can play it without any problem ( 7% cpu ) but mythtv stutters 
continuously and is unwatchable.

I tried all of the predefined playback profiles and non of them made any 
difference.
