Turn off the slow deletes setting you turned on...

Delete files slowly
Some filesystems use a lot of resources when deleting large recording
files.  This option makes Myth delete the file slowly on this backend to
lessen the impact.

Which is in mythtv-setup and is a per-host setting (so you need to
change it on all backends).  It is disabled by default.
