Most likely this provides just a "design" which can be adapted for the
XMLTV-based grabbers.

This is probably the best approach, because--as Nick mentioned--it
benefits even people who don't use Myth.

However, in the interim, see Robert Eden's posts earlier in the
(original) thread:

down side of this approach is that configuration and scripting of the
caching support is up to you.  Once integrated into the grabber, it
would be available for all.
