Ok, this is solved, but I have a new mystery....

This is a weird, and a bit embarrassing....

I have an NVidia 6200 based card, which has a DVI and VGA out. I have
DVI going to flat panel, and VGA to projector. I've been playing w/
nvidia-settings, trying to get it all tweaked correctly, using TwinView.
In the process, I managed to somehow create a virtual screen much larger
than physical. By scrolling mouse to the right, the screen would
scroll. Not what I want, and I'm still struggling w/ it. However,
another annoying side effect was, when I ran mythfrontend, it wasn't
hanging....it was coming up on the part of the virtual window that's NOT
VISIBLE. When I accidently hit the right edge of the physical window
with my mouse, everything scrolled to the left, revealing my running
mythfrontend screen.....d'oh!

So, sorry to have wasted everyone's time. I'm sure I'll have questions
about what I'm doing wrong w/ TwinView, but that's later...right now, I
need sleep...should have been in bed at least 3 hours ago...ugh.....
