MythTV will decode the captions encoded by the PVR-350.
This only works with recordings made with the matching
MythTV and ivtv releases. MythTV in SVN head combined
with the latest ivtv drivers will work, but so will other
combinations of drivers and MythTV. With the PVR-350,
you can probably use the ivtv driver which installs by
default via your package manager. With the PVR-150 and
PVR-500 cards I would recommend using the latest ivtv
drivers since the support for these cards was added much
later.

BTW MythTV has had support for this since at least 0.19,
using the ivtv drivers that were out at the time.
