Seagate have a DVR optimised hard drives as well, see:
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/consumer_electronics/db35_series/

I remember someone saying that the DVR/PVR drives are optimised for
simultaneous reading and writing of a video stream that can cause problems
for normal drives.

I am after a new drive so it may be time to look into the PVR optimised
drives, don't know if anyone is selling them in Australia.
