[mythtv-users] connection timeout (frontend won't talk to backend on same system)

I've used both 127.0.0.1 and my local IP, neither of which has worked.
I noticed when starting mythfrontend from a console that a message shows 
up saying 'Failed to find network interface eth0' which would probably 
be why it can;t find the backend. thing is, eth0 is working fine (able 
to browse the net).

I've dug around for settings files and haven't been able to find 
anything that has network settings.

still lost....
