Nothing is clueless-television-studio-proof.  But this particular idea
seems particularly clueless.  They'll just alienate the normal people
who watch tv live (who wants to watch 30 seconds of static image?).

Someone has to pay for our program content.  As long as myth market
penetration is very low, advertisers and studios won't worry about us.
But if it ever starts catching on, or of MS MediaCenter or someone
else with some market penetration starts pinching myth features, the
networks and stations will find some other way to make us watch their
advertising, like embedding the advertising in shows through product
placement or some such.
