I've yet to pay more than $100 for an AMD64 motherboard and they have
all worked fine. The concept of "best I can afford" is a concept that
doesn't hold water. It's like buying a 2001 Mercedes and then when you
start to have electrical problems exclaim "but I purchased the best
that I could afford!" while your neighbor's 2001 Lexus runs fine.

Let's hope moving the slot the card is in fixes the problem.
